TRUE PLAY

True Play is a free, drop-in program that supports the growth and development of youth 5 and under.

Each week materials are set up to facilitate the True Play environment.

Thursday 9:30 - 11:30 am

Ages 5 and under (with caregiver)

The afterschool program is a free program for youth ages 6-12 during the school year that is focused on providing a free, safe, fun, and welcoming space for youth in elementary school. The program provides a more traditional afterschool program structure with enrichment activities (e.g. art, cooking, sports, STEM, field trips), academic/homework time, community connections, and has a big focus on social-emotional growth and life long learning opportunities.

Programming runs Monday – Friday, during the school year, from school dismissal until 5:45 pm.

Bussing is available for Franklin and Randall Elementary students.

Elementary Afterschool

Middle School Monday’s is an afterschool program that takes place on Monday’s from MMSD dismissal to 5pm.

Open to all students in 6th – 8th grade.

Middle School Programming at Neighborhood House offers a relaxed atmosphere for academics/homework help, enrichment activities, field trips, and gym/outside time.

**Any middle schooler signed up for M.S. Monday’s are welcome to come to Neighborhood House after school on Tuesdays – Fridays if it’s needed (no scheduled programming).

Fun Friday is a free program that happens once a month from 6-8pm for youth ages 6-13.

Each months activities correspond with the monthly theme!

Please RSVP, but walk-ins are always welcome!

Off Day Program

We offer a full day program (8am – 4pm) for youth ages 6 and up on select days that MMSD is not in session.

At least 15 youth must be registered in order for this program to operate.

At this time the off-day program is currently paused for the 2025-2026 school year as we evaluate new priorities and community needs.

Elementary Summer Camp

The Elementary Summer Camp is an endless adventure that focuses on fostering relationships, building self-confidence, and offering hands-on learning experiences. Whether your child loves running around at the park, expressing themselves artistically, learning a new skill, or exploring the city of Madison, they will feel at home at our summer camp.

Open to students entering 1st - 5th grade.

Monday - Friday

8:30am - 4:15pm

Middle School Summer Camp

The Middle School Summer Camp is an explorative experience that focuses on creating community, providing teamwork and leadership opportunities, and developing life skills by exposing campers to a variety of enriching experiences, activities, field trips, and opportunities that build their physical, cognitive, and social-emotional knowledge.

Open to students entering 6th - 8th grade.

Monday - Friday

8:30am - 4:15pm

Madison Community Experience

The Madison Community Experience is a dynamic summer experience were participants spend their time in community, learning from guest speakers, going on field trips, and working on a youth-led summer community project.

Open to students entering 9th – 12th grade.

This is a half day program that occurs in the afternoons on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays

Community Impact Internship

The Community Impact Internship is open to youth in grades 9 - 12.

Interns work directly with Neighborhood House staff and volunteers in one of four focus areas -

Youth Development

Food Security

Social Media

Center Support

Interns will spend time learning about Neighborhood House, supporting programs, and developing & implementing a project/program at the center!

Hours are between 2 and 6 hours per week. Starting wage is $14/hr.

Interested individuals must complete an application and interview process.
