Emergency Food Pantry

Food Pantry is available to area residents and community members who need emergency assistance. Neighborhood House’s Food Pantry is open Monday and Thursday from 11:00-2:00 p.m.



Youth Programs

After-School Drop-In:
Open Monday 1:15-6:00 p.m., Tuesday-Friday 2:45-6:00 p.m. Drop-In provides an opportunity for youth ages 7-17 to unwind in a safe, recreational atmosphere. Youth can engage in social and educational programs and projects.

Our After-School program offers "Power Hour" -- a 45 minute time devoted to homework and tutoring. Tutors come to us from MATC, Edgewood and UW-Madison.

Summer Day Camp:
Monday-Friday 9:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m. A recreational and educational program for youth ages 7-13. Youth engage in summer activities like swimming, tennis, gardening, arts and crafts and performing arts. Day camp includes field trips to the public libraries, Madison Children’s Museum, the Civic Center, UW-campus and more!

Senior Programs

Exercise class:
Will begin soon.

Senior Wednesdays:
Last Wednesday of the month from 2-5 p.m. at Parkside Apartments. Dinner provided with activities.

Home Chores:
Delivery of food and basic transportation for seniors.

Community Service

Neighborhood House provides supervision and structured work tasks and activities for adult and youth offenders. The program allows the participants to accept responsibility, develop a support network and build self-esteem. In addition, the center provides adults from the W2 Program an opportunity to participate in center activities. Benefits to the participants include learning new skills, acquiring new reference for employment and building self-esteem.

Community Meeting Space & Faculty Use

As an additional service to the community, Neighborhood House provides a meeting space for neighborhood and special interest groups such as the Greenbush Neighborhood Association, Greenbush Play Group, Nepali Friendship Group, Durendal Fencing, Tibetan Tutoring Project and Ballet Folklorico Mexico!!

Community Arts Program

Ongoing projects involving youth and adults with an emphasis on generating art projects that reflect the local history and culture. Completed projects include a mural in the center’s gymnasium, mosaic stepping stones, and a landscaping project.

Community Events and Meals

Neighborhood House hosts several community meals and fundraising events throughout the year. These events provide opportunities for area residents to connect and engage with each other within an informal, community setting.
